Technology and mode of action

The PICOLO S is based on proven Q-Switch Nd:YAG technology. The laser delivers its energy in extremely short nanosecond pulses. The energy hits the pigment so quickly that it cannot dissipate into the tissue as heat – instead a photoacoustic effect occurs: pigment particles shatter into the finest micro-fragments.

These fragments are then gradually carried away by the body's own clearance processes, in particular the lymphatic system. Depending on the starting situation – type, depth and age of the pigment – several sessions are advisable. Four wavelengths (532, 755, 1064 and 1320 nm) make it possible to tailor the treatment to different pigments and skin layers.

In carbon peeling, a fine carbon mask is applied to the skin and ablated with the laser. The energy deep-cleans the pores, removes dead skin cells and stimulates the skin – for a clearer, more even and more radiant complexion.
