Price calculator
When will your device have paid for itself?
Enter your own figures. The calculator shows from which month your device has recouped its costs. All amounts are net.
- Contribution margin per treatment
- Fixed costs per month
- Treatments per month needed to cover fixed costs
Note: The calculator is a non-binding model calculation based on your own entries. The preset figures are purely illustrative examples. It is neither an offer nor a promise of revenue or profit, and it does not replace tax, legal or business advice. All amounts are net, plus statutory VAT; surpluses are stated before tax. Financing and leasing terms depend on your creditworthiness and on the respective financing partner.
ROI calculator for laser devices: when does your device pay for itself?
Whether you are looking at a diode laser for hair removal, a picosecond laser for tattoo removal, a CO2 laser or RF microneedling, every purchase starts with the same question: when will the device have earned back what it cost? The SIACSKIN price calculator answers it using your own figures. Enter the device price or monthly instalment, your treatment price, costs and utilisation, and you will see straight away how many months it takes for the device to pay for itself, how much surplus you make each month and how many treatments cover your fixed costs.
What the calculator takes into account
- Purchase, financing or leasing: the device price, or the monthly instalment with term and down payment.
- Contribution margin per treatment: your net price less consumables and disposables.
- Running costs: service and maintenance, plus other fixed costs such as insurance, staff and your share of premises costs.
- Utilisation in three scenarios, cautious, realistic and strong, with a chart showing how the result develops month by month.
Who the calculator is for
For beauty salons, medical practices, clinics and start-ups planning to buy a laser device or comparing quotes. You can save the result as a PDF, for example to take to a meeting with your bank, leasing company or tax adviser.
Frequently asked questions about the ROI calculator
How does the calculator work out when a laser machine has paid for itself?
It starts with the contribution margin per treatment, that is, your net price less the cost of consumables and disposables. Multiply that by your treatments per month, deduct your fixed costs, and you have the monthly surplus. The device counts as paid off as soon as these surpluses add up to the device price. With financing or leasing, the device price is replaced by the down payment plus the total of all instalments.
What do ROI, payback period and break-even mean?
The payback period is the number of months it takes for the surpluses to cover the investment. ROI (return on investment) expresses the surplus after a given period as a proportion of the investment. Break-even is the number of treatments per month at which your running costs are covered. The calculator shows you all three figures.
How many treatments per month do I need to break even?
That depends on your treatment price and your costs. The calculator tells you the number of treatments that covers your monthly fixed costs, including the instalment if you are financing or leasing. Every treatment beyond that adds to your surplus.
Can I compare buying a laser device with financing or leasing it?
Yes. At the top of the calculator you can switch between purchase and financing or leasing. For a purchase you enter the device price; for financing or leasing, the monthly instalment, the term and any down payment. That lets you look at both options on the same assumptions for price, costs and utilisation.
Are the amounts gross or net?
All amounts are net, in other words excluding VAT. Surpluses are stated before tax.
Can I calculate in a different currency?
Yes. Use the currency selector to switch the display to your currency. The conversion uses an approximate exchange rate and is non-binding.
Is the result binding?
No. The calculator is a non-binding model calculation based on your own entries, and the preset figures are purely illustrative examples. It is neither an offer nor a promise of revenue or profit, and it does not replace tax, legal or business advice. It is free to use and no registration is required.
Would you like to go through the calculation with actual device prices and financing terms? We will advise you free of charge and with no obligation.
