BBL Treatment: Cost per Session and Pricing Calculation for Your Salon
What does a BBL treatment cost, and what price should you charge in your salon? If you search for “BBL treatment cost”, “BBL laser cost” or “BBL facial cost”, you will find very different figures. That is due to region, provider, zone and package. This page shows you which ranges German price lists give for a facial BBL session, and above all how to calculate your own treatment price from the device rate, time and utilization. The DERMAFORCE BBL PRO serves as the example device.
Incidentally: BBL is often called a “BBL laser”, but technically it is not a laser. BroadBand Light works with broadband, filtered light from a flash lamp. How the treatment works and what it is suited for is explained in the guide BBL and IPL: light treatment.
BBL treatment: typical market prices
According to publicly available price lists of German dermatology practices and aesthetic institutes, a BBL session for the whole face usually costs between roughly €250 and just under €600, and smaller zones such as the cheeks are available from roughly €150 (typical on the market according to price lists, as of October 2026). Combinations of face, neck and décolletage cost correspondingly more, and courses of three sessions are often offered as a package.
The figures come mainly from medically run facilities and serve for orientation only, without guarantee. Your price should result from your costs and your location, not from the most expensive or the cheapest list.
Session duration and rhythm
For the calculation, duration and rhythm matter. A BBL session takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the zone. For a more even complexion, 3 to 5 sessions at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks are usually standard, followed by 1 to 2 refreshers per year. On top come cleansing, contact gel, safety goggles, a test pulse and a brief follow-up discussion. In the worked example below we therefore assume 45 minutes per appointment (assumption).
Calculating the treatment price: the method
A sustainable price consists of four building blocks:
- Device share: monthly rate ÷ sessions per month.
- Time costs: appointment length × staff cost per hour; as an owner, you apply your imputed salary.
- Fixed-cost share: proportional rent, utilities, insurance and marketing ÷ sessions per month.
- Material and wear: contact gel, hygiene, sun protection for aftercare and a reserve for the flash lamp.
The sum gives your cost per session. On top come your profit margin and, for the end-customer price, value-added tax.
Worked example with assumptions: DERMAFORCE BBL PRO
| Building block | Assumption | Per session |
|---|---|---|
| Device rate | €450/month (example rate net, 60 months) at 40 sessions/month | €11.25 |
| Time costs | 45 minutes × €25/hour | €18.75 |
| Fixed-cost share | €1,000/month ÷ 40 sessions | €25.00 |
| Material | Gel, hygiene, sun protection | €3.00 |
| Lamp reserve | Assumption; ask the service team for the actual value | €2.00 |
| Net cost | Sum | €60.00 |
With these assumptions, the cost comes to around €60 net per session. Every euro above that is contribution margin for profit, reserves and weak months. Compare the result with the prices in your region and then decide where to position yourself.
Utilization determines your costs
| Sessions per month (assumption) | Device share | Fixed-cost share | Total cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | €22.50 | €50.00 | €96.25 |
| 40 | €11.25 | €25.00 | €60.00 |
| 60 | €7.50 | €16.67 | €47.92 |
At half utilization, the cost rises by a good 60% in this example. That is why it pays to sell BBL as a course rather than a single appointment: a package of several sessions fills the calendar over weeks and lowers your cost per appointment. In the price calculator you enter your own values.
Tier prices by zone, package and indication
- By zone: face, neck, décolletage and back of the hands individually and as a combination. The DERMAFORCE BBL PRO has two light windows, 45 × 15 mm for large areas and 30 × 12 mm for small areas. The time per zone is your basis.
- By package: a course of 3 to 5 sessions with a fixed rhythm, plus refresher appointments.
- By indication: Pigment spots, redness and acne need different filters and numbers of sessions. Background is provided by the guides Pigment spots and melasma and Couperose and rosacea.
- Combinations: BBL with RF microneedling or laser as a program, see Combination treatments.

Frequently asked questions
What does a facial BBL treatment cost?
According to price lists of German dermatology practices and aesthetic institutes, a BBL session for the whole face usually costs between roughly €250 and just under €600, and smaller zones are available from roughly €150 (as of October 2026). Courses of several sessions are often offered as a package.
Why are BBL prices so different?
Region, type of facility, treated zone, program and package size all influence the price. Positioning also plays a role: medically run facilities in big cities are often at the upper end. For your salon, your own costs and the prices in your area are what count.
How do I calculate the price for a BBL session?
Add the device share (rate ÷ sessions per month), time costs, proportional fixed costs, plus material and lamp reserve. That gives your cost. In the example with assumptions on this page it comes to around €60 net per session at 40 sessions a month. On top come profit margin and value-added tax.
How many BBL sessions are usual?
For a more even complexion, 3 to 5 sessions at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks are usually standard, followed by 1 to 2 refreshers per year. A session takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the zone.
Is BBL a laser?
No. BBL is often called a “BBL laser”, but it works with broadband, filtered light from a flash lamp. A laser, by contrast, emits a single wavelength. The DERMAFORCE BBL PRO uses a spectrum of 400 to 800 nm with 9 filters.
What does a BBL device cost per month?
The DERMAFORCE BBL PRO is available from approx. €450 per month, as an example rate net over a 60-month term. The flash lamp is added as a wear part; the actual service life and maintenance intervals are provided by the SIACSKIN service team.
All rates net, example calculation over a 60-month term, subject to credit approval. As of October 2026.
